Southbourne School of English是由家族企業經營，於1966創立。學校位於柏恩茅斯一處新興的住宅區，這邊的環境既友善，又安全、乾淨；居民以年輕的家庭、學者、教授為主；因身處於住宅區，學校安排的寄宿家庭，多為走路即可到校。學校周遭的生活機能也非常的方便，擁有完善的公車路線，距離火車站也近。走出校園約10分鐘的路程，就可以看到全英國最長的海灘。

學校附近有不少適合各年齡層、宗教的餐廳，包含熟食店、餐廳、café, club, 酒吧等，還有”清真認證”的店家，最有名的餐廳有，
* Deli Rocks：是一間義式熟食店，提供各種類型的地中海美食。
* Smithson’s Fish & Chip：英式傳統的”炸魚與薯條”最佳的典範的餐廳。
#關於”娛樂”
夏天最適合到伯恩茅斯學英文，天氣舒服，而且有不少海上活動可以體驗，包含沙灘排球、沙灘足球，與各種類型的衝浪(風箏、風帆)等。

2 寄宿家庭
優點：能深入體驗當地文化生活和日常用語；通過寄宿家庭更可結識更多的當地人，比如鄰居等。
缺點：飲食上的差異，對不習慣吃當地食物的同學來講是件痛苦的事；距離學校，通常需至少40分左右的車程。
